My Story

I earned my first rejection at the age of thirteen, but since then I’ve worked hard and have become a bestselling author of more than forty published books. My adult fiction debut, Let Them Eat Cake, was a Christy Award finalist, as was my first historical novel, To Die For: A Novel of Anne Boleyn. To Die For was also named by Library Journal as a Best Books Pick for 2011, and The Secret Keeper: A Novel of Kateryn Parr was named a Library Journal Best Books Pick for 2012.┬áMy YA Novel Asking for Trouble was a finalist for the 2011 ECPA Medallion of Excellence Award.

Before I began my career as an author, I was a textbook acquisitions editor, so I understand that side of the desk, too. I’m passionate about helping new writers develop their talent and their work toward traditional or independent publication. I’ve mentored and coached hundreds of new writers to success.
